Our members can pay a discounted registration fee to attend the soft matter scattering workshop being organised by Chris Garvey of ANSTO. The workshop is being held on 11-12 February 2016 at the city campus of RMIT University in Melbourne. The workshop is suitable for experience researchers, ECRs and post-docs and PhD/Honours students.

The themes of the workshop are:
·         Introduction to scattering formalism (applied to pulsed field gradient NMR, neutron, X-ray and light scattering techniques).
·         Seminars highlighting how these techniques have been applied to soft matter research.
 ·         Data reduction, analysis and interpretation.
 ·         How to access instrumentation, both laboratory based and at major facilities.

The cost of the workshop will be $40 for students and $60 for senior scientists, which will cover workshop morning teas, lunch and a workshop dinner.  ACIS members will receive $20 off the registration fee. Some travel and accommodation support will be available for students from Australia and New Zealand.
